The high school I went to was the "Home of the Rebels". Confederate battle flags, "the little Rebel Man", the whole 9 yards. We were rednecks, good ol' boys, and hillbillies. Our class was 80%+ White. The remainder were persons of the African persuasion, and the two groups rarely interacted with one another at all. No "hispanics" around back then. We were yee-haw, pickup trucks, hot rods, and caps on our heads (with the brim curved, like it should be). It seems, though, that my generation did NOT raise the next generation to be like them, AT ALL. Nor do many of my own generation even act like themselves anymore, having completely whored themselves out to "pop culture".

The Confederate flag and "little Rebel Man" were done away with several years ago, not surprisingly. Now, finally, the school is going to get rid of the "Rebels" moniker completely. They want to more represent the students that are in the school... you know, the halfricans, the mestizos, the mudsharks, and the skinny-jeans-clad soyboys (just like probably every high school everywhere now). They are asking for suggestions for the new school name/mascot. ..... I think I'm going to suggest "The Mighty Cucks".

My old HS overrun by groids and beaners.
They send more to jail than graduation.
Been that way for a couple decades.
Was a fairly new suburban school, but they bused a bunch in from downtown.

Groundhog/ rabbit hunting spots got apartments. Whole city expanded a couple miles past.

The high school I graduated from deleted our team name and mascot from Redskins to just Union.

The college I graduated from changed from Redmen to Riverhawks.

And yeah, it's that way everywhere now.
A school I attended was the same Rebels,
and it was also changed. The current principal
Shaniqua tossed everything with the Rebel name
into the garbage, literally, and didn't say anything
about it. Historical documents, sports trophies,
original one-of-a-kind painted portraits, etc.
Anything that mentioned or had the Rebel name
on it gone forever. Irreplaceable items

How about "The Fighing Vagina's".

I simply do not recognize the world, or the people around me anymore.

can't come up with anything more appropriate than that.

We have a couple liberal teachers, mostly the school/college courses.
The administration has to carefully walk the line that is not
really there. And not supported by locals.


The kids are way more politically aware than we were. (Thank you Rush!)
Last night when we had a conversation about this, our 12th grade daughter
was able to name about 6 liberal kids out of 140. And among the
136, there are many outspoken and well informed.
Including little Miss Buck, (Brag!)


All the local schools are similar.
One is The Warriors.
That ain't changing soon, unless there was some court order.

Beauty of living in a sorta rural conservative area.
But, it's slowly changing.
This is a retirement area for the DC/Baltimorons. They are
buying up the farms and planting houses. Mostly bought by imports.

And they blame racism. Never mind that they simply don't do the work necessary for success, regardless of race. It's so easy to blame it on race. You don't have to do a damn thing except bellyache about it.

The high school that my wife graduated from, and the one that my granddaughter attends and her sister will attend next year, are also home of the Rebels. I'd say it's also at least 20% Black, along with quite a few Hispanics. There has been some talk of changing their name, but so far nothing has happened. When the high schools in the county were consolidated back around 1960 or so, they choose that name, and it's became pretty ingrained. I'd say that at some point in the future, the Negroes will demand a change, but I'd have to say there'll be a pretty good argument over it.

I graduated High School in Jax. School named for a Confederate General. We were called the Rebels, had the battle flag and the whole array of symbols. When I was in high school, the only blacks you saw were sweeping the halls, and serving in the cafeteria. The side of town was no more than about 15% black. As Cecil Field Navy base closed, demographics changed. Probably 50% black there now. Years ago, the name was changed to Westside High School, and the mascot is some sort of animal Sad, but life goes on.
