Nice rifles. They were a limited run. I almost bought one 2 years ago for $600.00. That's not saying that's what they are worth. I'd say they are closer to $900.00 to a collector.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I have 2 of these rifles, one in 220 Swift the other 22-250. the H-S precision stocks on these rifles are among the best you will find for shooting off a rest. both of mine are incredibly accurate, but as for value I have no idea my swift I bought more than 20 years ago and have no intention of selling it. the value to me is how well it shoots I'm sure you will find that out with your 223

Don’t know the value. I had one in 223, very accurate PD killer. They are nice. One of the very few pushfeeds I'd own.. Some guys say they had a 1 in 12" twist, others say 1 in 9". It would be interesting to see if the op's really has a 1 in 9 twist. Should be good for bullets weighing up to about 73 grains, if it does. They were made from '93-'99.

I have a 70 HV in .223 that came to me with the laminated stock and a fluted 24-inch barrel. Wouldn't shoot no matter what I tried, and when I finally got to see what the bore looked like I knew why. I replaced that barrel with a 26-inch OEM chrome-moly barrel, and somewhere along the way I picked up an HS Precision stock for it. I think it may well be the most accurate rifle I own, and that includes a good pair of 788s in .222 & .223 Remington. I have no intention of selling it anytime soon, but I don't think I'd take any less that $850 or so.

Thanks to this thread I am thinking my next .224 build may be something along the lines of one of these.
Probably my favorite long and heavy barreled rifle I had.
My buds Swift is what persuaded me to get my 243.
Wish I had that one back.
Can't remember whose barrels they were putting on those but the ones I was around were shooters.

My Swift is a stainless barrel and has been the best factory barrel I've owned, it is more than 20 years old and is still a shooter. my 22-250 was a blued barrel that shot well but went away quickly and has been replaced with a Krieger. looking at both with my bore scope the swift barrel looks to be button rifled and really quite smooth, the 22-250 barrel looked really quite rough with lots of tooling marks, almost looks to be hammer forged

Does that mean throughout the 70 HV line, or some particular period of production? Besides the barrel mine wears now, I have another just like it on the way as a spare or eventual replacement. I am curious as to who made the 26-inch CM barrels...the one on the rifle now is outstanding.

I've got one of the Blued barrels in 243.... it wasn't shot much when I got it.... the holes drilled at the factory to put scope bases on, was off center...
so who ever or how many owned it before me didn't shoot it much...
I sent it to Winchester, tell them it was drilled and tapped off center...
they sent it back, never acknowledging what I said... and sent a picture of a group that was on ragged hole and told me it shot great, they could find no issues with it..
that was a 6 month wait for nothing... put a set of Leupold bases and rings that squared away the issue....
of the 243s I have it will probably be the last 243 I ever even think of getting rid of....
