I found an unfitted ruger red pad in a box of stuff Says goodyear on the inside.
Thanks for the offer but w the shorter bbl the AH looks about right. Popped the one off my B and it looked stubby.

Update:
Forend not yet fitted.
Whoever built this thing drilled the scope base holes not aligned. Yes a windage rear will work, but its way over.
So.....i think the pig needs rebarreled.
Who should I send this to?
A 24" heavy bbl in .243 ( standard twist ) would be OK. So would a B cut to 24".
Or maybe have it redone to something else. Maybe med weight bbl in .35 rem?

Both PacNor and McGowen will rebarrel them for about the same cost. I have #1b in 7mm mag with a roached barrel that I may send off to one of them. Need to finish up some other projects, before I get serious on it.

It wears a McGowen bbl in .219 DWasp.....but I dunno who drilled and tapped it for the bases. Shame. Using the windage base/ring at rear I can get it aligned. But it's about max'd and looks stupid. IMHO it needs done right. But that will move the rear base slightly fwd.
I guess the bbl could be set back a bit.
I'll try to call Penrod this week. No hurry.

If your forearm doesn't work let me know. I have several stocks and forearms for No. 1 and 3's.
I am always looking for factory wood stocks!
