Should I be using locktite in the set screws to stop them from moving? Came loose today during the first range session and i I was no longer able to adjust. What’s the best option or are these junk like everything else I’ve purchased in the last 10 years?

I haven't had them come loose on accident.

I loosen them and reset the turrets to zero for my rifle's zero and they tighten right back quite securely.

Never had one come loose and have a number of them. Retighten and see if it works.

Loosen all three screws, so that the turret is free wheeling, zero the turrets and gently tighten per mathman's advice.

Do not over tighten.

SWFA are good because they ARE good. Hell yeah! Got six of 'em.

Took from box...mounted...attempted sight in...lost control of windage due to set screws backing out

Didn’t realize I needed hand tools and/or binding agent to zero.

You don’t.

The set screws likely weren’t tightened properly at the factory.

I have had a few where they did not tighten the setscrew‘s in the turret cap. I just assumed they did not do that on purpose as the end-user would be resetting the turrets to zero anyway.

Just snug them down again and you’ll be good to go

I never head to the range without sets of folding hex and torx wrenches as well as screwdrivers, including the tiny one to adjust handgun sights. Also a nylon punch and small ball peen are in the truck with me always. Learned over the years. Or you can usually borrow hex wrenches from somebody there if there is somebody else there.

Was the wrench not in the box with the scope? I get that you’re being sarcastic about hand tools and binding agent but why would you not take a few things like that along when zeroing a scope? Don’t get me wrong I’ve ran off and forgot things plenty of times but never felt like it was the scopes fault I didn’t take the Allen wrench that fits the screws to zero the turret.

Then again not everything I’ve bought in the last 10 years has been junk as you said so maybe I’m lucky like that.

No wrench in the box. Generally in my range box I've good tools, targets, chronograph, spotting scope etc. Honestly this was just a quick and dirty sight in...and naturally i needed tools.

Just wasn't sure if this was a reoccurring issue with these. Glad to hear its not.

Couple of mine loosened. None have loosened since tightening. Suspect factory just snugs them. Probably best to check them before use.

Never had the issue. SWFA's are bulletproof (both personal experience and many years of hearsay).
