2nd day of July today.

This morning I was out inspecting the rainwater situation on the foam liner for our future shop slab. The Styrofoam liner is holding a little rain water. There was ice, the water out there froze last night.

I have pics on my cell phone, I'll upload in a bit.

Does all the water need to off of the foam before they can pour the concrete?

They tell me a lot will get displaced (pushed off) as they pour but they will blow/vac as much as they can off prior to pour.

(This means I will be doing that)

The old story on concrete, is the more water, the weaker the result.

Speaking of those, I picked one up last weekend. A Wildgame Razor6. It came with batteries and an SD card as well for $89. I thought that was a pretty good deal. I have 3 now that work...for now. eek

Construction speak for.. "we are too lazy to get that water off of the foam, so if you want it gone, do it yourself."

I got the boat nearly ready for the weekend. First time on the water this year. Registered it this morning. BTW, I don't think the DNR wants us to have boats on their precious water anymore with how difficult they're making it just to register the damn things.

Picked up a new Lowrance color locator. Kind of a cute little sucker. grin New lights, put in a battery charger, seat extensions, fresh gas.

After sitting since August of last year, the old 1976 Evinrude 15hp popped right off on the 4th pull. I'm getting pretty excited to wet a line. GG has been asking me to get down and out with him. Well, now that work has slowed, I might have to.

To more questions, air entrained?

How much is a cubic yard?

Jeesh.... that's floor ain't movin!

You won't need air so don't pay for it. As long as you'll have the roof on the entire time you'll be OK.

All right, how many US Dollars does that "yard" cost?
One cubic yard of ready mix concrete that is.

I'm not going to answer that question for Dave, but where I live, on a daily basis, 1cy of mix with air entrainment and 3/4" or 11/2" stone is $130/yd. That price is for ordering 1000's of yards a month. It's not cheap anymore, but asphalt is just as bad.

I don't think anyone here expected anything less from T. smile

But it's 27 cubic feet Mr. engineer. Sorry, I had to correct.

I sure wish I could help ND push this project along. I may have some legal ideas. The better ones won't be spoken of here.

I never in 100 months figured that I'd be self-employeed before my good bud ND. Such is life I guess. This will give me more time to get a head start on him I guess.

I don't think my patients would have lasted this long. Something to be said about that.

"Chickenbuck Restorations". What a great potential for a reality TV series we have here. It would be like a combination of "Duck Dynasty" and "American Restorations" with a touch of "American Pickers" and "Deadliest Catch" thrown in. The show would start out with "preacher" pointing the way north or "up" cause that's where the Chickenbucks are.

what is the new venture WB?

this bug must be going around,I'm actually today setting up my new (side) business. I'll be doing it on the side of my regular wildlife job, because that one is just too fun smile but without a raise of any kind in years, I figure I have to do something to get ahead. there isn't a company that repairs/installs or sells garage doors for 60 miles. I've had people contact me to help them with theirs and all have said I need to start a business because no one else is. So I'll hang out my shingle and give it a go. hardest part will be figuring out what all I have to do legally for licensing/insurance/taxes etc. but I have all day with a sick little girl so I'm sure I can figure it out (I hope).
