Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. Last Thursday I turned 76.WOW! Whodathunkit? I had a great day.
It seems here lately I spend a lot of time on Facebook and don't get by here that often.

Saw a few bucks last night all running together. I'm not sure how big they were, but 2 of the 4 had some nice headgear.
I've noticed I've been pulling the guns out of the safe a bit more the last week or so too.

I drew a once in a lifetime tag yesterday for WT deer! only 29 tags on 71,000 acres. reports of huge whitetails being taken out of there in the past. I'm pretty stoked to say the least! most folks never get a chance to hunt CSP, But I do this year! woohoo!

I didnt realize we both have the same friend on Facebook. I had no idea there was a connection. I am looking forward to his annual rant against the ND Game and Fish if he doesnt get a buck tag! That should tell you who he is!

Ryan,
We are in Hill City right now, leaving for home tomorrow morning. This area is fantastic! Drove the back roads thru CSP last evening and saw some very nice whitetails. How is it finding public land to hunt on out here? I'm thinking archery deer.

It's a beautiful area. I can't wait to hunt there. Next year is the year. I'm also hoping to bring my son and pick up a youth tag for him. Baseball is over...he's got hunting and fishing on the brain as much as his dad. Maybe even more, He also has some dirt bike riding buzzing around up in there.  How have you been doing Jeff?

Tom....I'm good, the kids are growing, the oldest has her driving permit. Been spending about one day per weekend in the boat, which is always good. Also working on a batch of knives, including some fillet type blades.
Ryan.....I thought about getting in touch, but we were on the go pretty much the whole time. Got out there late thursday and left early monday morning. PM me your email and I'll send some pictures of a buck or two we saw in Custer. I've been trying to talk our oldest into a Wy deer or antelope trip, those deer in Custer didn't hurt my cause.

I met him in ND, he's friends with the best man at my wedding, used to hangout with him a bit when I lived up that way in 08-11 time frame. I haven't hunted with him ironically, but we've sang a lot of karaoke together.
as usual his rant was top notch this year over not drawing a tag.

We're getting a nice soaker too. Cooled WAY down as well, which is good. The heat lately has been sucky

It was 65 when I went to work yesterday at 6:15. I was outside on a job site at 9:00 and it was 52! Nice temps in the 70's for the rest of the weekend! I'll take it. I don't mind the hot but it's the gosh darn humidity.
