Best wishes for a very Merry Christmas to all the 'Buckers and those of us that visit this thread frequently. Here's to the hope everyone's 2021 is way better than this crappy year we've lived through!

Love this thread and never participated till I figured out pictures.

Our camp. 40 years old next May. Pretty typical of a UP deer shack.

My Chicken Buck hat was a casualty of dragging a buck out in a blizzard about 3 years ago. I thought the branches had just snagged my hood but it took my hat off as well, I guess.

I tried to retrace my steps but they were covered in snow. No sign of it in the spring either.

Damn...

Thanks! Sitting on 120 acres of old farmland. All lumber cut on site and rough cut to dimension at sawmill down the road. Hemlock and cedar. Deck was added later and replaced once in last 40 years.

Got some snow last year. She held up fine. Snow on roof was shoulder high on a 6ft tall man.

Next time up there, I'll get some better pics of the cabinets.

My dad n uncle built it, I was 3 or 4 but the cabinet pulls are all 12ga hulls, Winchester W on them. The countertop nail heads covered with various cartridge headstamps.

Can sorta see the "W" here...

Have you? Not enough ice down in this neck of MN for any Ice Palaces. Not even enough ice for cars from the smart people. Hell...yesterday it was 51*. That's like 118 Canadian degrees. grin

Yeah Tom, we were mobile on the snowmachines by Christmas, had 8"+ good blue ice by then.

I towed the hard shack out with the tundra 550 fan over the Christmas / New Year break.

I'll hang some pics, if you'd like ?
