Wondering if any of you guys have experience with a left hand bergara? Saw one on the used rack and am thinking on it.
What you have done is not nearly as important as how you have done it!!! The Old Fart 2008 A.D.

Well, since no one has replied I’ll give you my experience with a right handed one my buddy bought. An absolute tack driver right out of the box with factory ammo; I don’t think you can buy a more accurate rifle for the money. I passed on a used lefty in 22-250 for $825 and have been kicking myself ever since.

I have a lefty HMR 22-250, I can’t comment on it’s accuracy yet I’m still doing load development, it looks to be a shooter though, overall I am impressed with the fit and finish, a lot of bang for your buck, I have several high end customs and this Bergara did not disappoint me, the only thing I didn’t like was the trigger so I swapped it out for a jewel.

They are manufactured in a suburb of Atlanta. Very good reputation among the hunters that I know that have their rifles. All are exceptionally accurate. By the way a large portion of their employees are veterans with backgrounds as armorers, gunsmiths and machinists.
Bergara has a long range shooting school out west that several friends have attended. It too is top notch.

Don't know anyone that has a lefty but I've got a few and friends have several. All easily shoot under an inch, find the right handload and they cut ragged holes. Triggers are good out of the box and since a 700 clone plenty of aftermarket options.

Some models IIRC, are made in Spain. The better ones here. There’s a few stories about failures of the MIM bolt shroud on one model at least; not sure which. Was at the range when that happened to another member. It just sheared off. The higher grade one I looked at before that looked quite nice, as it should for the price. Don’t want to kill your buzz, just give you info to check out. Good luck. EDIT: Found this and other info this morning by searching “Bergara bolt shroud”. One video showed smoke coming out the back towards the shooter’s face (no glasses!) on firing, then failures to fire after that. It appears they have a machined one available now. https://www.longrangehunting.com/threads/bergara-rifle-issues-and-solution.218873/

I'd recommend a Ruger Hawkeye or American.

My nephew(14) is a lefty. He worked all summer to get a new rifle for deer season. He got a bergara hmr in 6.5 creed at the end of summer. It shoots very well. He really likes it, he says it fits him well. I’ve shot it a few times and it is a smooth action and seems well built with good fit and finish.
