That, what’s the rifle you feel is most overlooked/under appreciated.

To me it’s the Browning Bar Shorttrac/MKIII

I have the Shorttrac in 308 Win and my brother and a couple friends have an MKIII in .308 or 7-08. All have sub-moa accuracy with factory ammo and have never had a malfunction. Mainly we use them for hunting Mule deer in the sand where a follow up shot is often needed quickly, or for hunting hogs.

Marlin xl7 and stevens 200 were great guns that I believe were overlooked because they were priced below their worth.

I've never had my hands on a BLR but I can vouch for the SAVAGE 110. My daughter has one in .243W and it will shoot the lights out (from a long way off).

I've delved more and more into the custom, long(er) range game, but for a ballz out hunting rifle where extreme accuracy isn't paramount, I believe the older Savage 1899s are the most under appreciated rifles out there. They carry well in your hand, in a scabbard or strapped to your pack. They're generally accurate enough out to 250(fish) yards and have been completely reliable for me.

It is better than anything currently made for those purposes IMO, but doesn't get the attention of the Winchester levers.

I have 2 or 3 now and have had several since 1974. ALL have been accurate
and trouble free.

Another nod for the push-feed Mod 70.

With a second for the Savage 200 - I bought a couple of them new in the box with some generic 3-9 scope for $200 our the door but as well as they shot I just couldn't love them.

Weatherby Vanguard is a heck of a bargain for a rifle that is well made and not a throw away plastic piece of junk.
