Thanks, now I see. Seems like a better option than a belted case.

Very nice. The biggest decision I struggle with is picking a 6” 454 or 7 1/2”. It would be scoped.

Anyone have a chest holster they can show with a scoped FA 83?

I've had several, including three Premier 454's, a Premier 475 5-1/2" (special order), and a 4" Model 97 44 Spl that had every option (octagon, fluting, trigger, rounded butt, ivory micarta).

Ended up selling them all.

When Ruger came out with the 5-shot 454, I sold my last FA 454 to buy one.

When I had a chance at a Linebaugh made 475, I sold my FA to buy it.

And when Ruger came out with the flat-top Bisley 44 spl, I sold my Model 97 to buy a stainless Ruger with a 4-3/4" barrel.

I really don't miss the FA's. The Rugers shoot just as good for me. And the Linebaugh gun is just amazing.

I don’t have one yet, but I’ve been drooling over a 7.5” .454 lately.

Shot my little 5.5" round butt FA 44 Special last night before dark, it's going to ride on my belt rig all season long, the GT Bullets 255gr Keith bullets over H-4227 for an easy, fun and comfortable to shoot 1030 fps leave no doubts about punching any deer or pig that wander in close, will also use for finishers if need be.

I have two, both Model 97s. A .41 Magnum 6 inch and a .357 Magnum 5-1/2 inch. Far and away the finest handguns I've ever owned.

Heard that more black bears are showing up in Oklahoma.

There are plenty of illegal migrant Canadian bears showing up in Washington State and Montana that could be...uh...flown and given a "room" at taxpayer expense in Oklahoma.

They are arguably the finest production revolver made.
However, a BFR is a better buy and just as accurate.
I base my opinion after owning 5 Freedom Arms and 3 BFR’s

Convinces me to buy one of each when available.

My FA 83 .454, from their custom shop- 10" octagon bbl, MagNaPorted, trigger job which breaks at 2.75 lb., wears a Burris 2x in this photo but has since been mounted up with an UltraDot Gen2 red dot site. For smaller hogs, deer, etc., I shoot Hornady XTP Mag 240 gr. bullets over IMR 4227 powder, for a MV of 1650 fps- not a hot load by any measure, but shoots through most game.

I've had a few FA 83's over the years. Current one was purchased used as it sits here, apparently ordered from the factory with the scope package. I was passing through Post Falls, ID and Cabelas had this in the glass case for $1200 which seemed too good to be true. I've since had FA shorten the barrel to 6" and fit the adjustable rear sight, however it now wears a RMR red dot sight.
