Well I still couldn't get the Konus scope far enough forward to suit me so I pulled it and mounted a Leupold 4 power. The Konus 1-4x24 is designed for the AR style rifles so I put it on my 6.5 Grendel and quickly got that rifle sighted in. Haven't had a chance to shoot my Encore but soon hopefully.

Ok back at it. Shot 34 bullets today out of it with no issues just steady shooting. It was hot out. Sighted in with the 270 grain Deep Curl on top of 80 grains of the Shooters World general purpose Black. Figure it's going at least 1500 fps and recoil should be light enough for my 15 year old grandson to shoot. Ran a dry patch down the barrel for a couple shots and then used orange windshield washer on a wet patch to clean better. I have never had a powder easier to clean.

With my first Knight UL, 80gr of BH with 300gr .452 XTPs punched through a number of deer for my sons, including one that went 172lbs dressed. Bullet weight matters too, I guess. Have since gone to 100gr, but for no particular reason, except maybe that it might shoot a bit flatter. POI up to 100 seems pretty much the same.

What that "gunsmith" did is total horseshit. SOB needs to pay the bill for a real machinist to fix it.

Getting great accuracy with the Shooters world multi purpose black and it only cost me $19. a pound. I will be shooting a lot more than you are for sure.

+1 on the BH 209 in an Encore 209x50. I like the fact that I can weigh it out and be super consistent in my load.
