Forget all the fancy technical details of "correct voltage and let's just cut to the chase.

I have Easy access to a dryer/stove plug, but for now am only wanting 20-30 Amp 110V.

Is there an issue of using two legs of of the three hot and neutral.

A 110 V welder (rated to use 20 amp circuit) will be used on this circuit and so should I provide a ground to the welding table?
I know, maybe not the best, but gotta go with what is served up to me.

I guess I was a little concerned having a neutral, but no ground and the breaker issue.

3 or 4 wire dryer outlet? It will work with both... but is correct with 4 wire or convert one of the 3 wire "hots" to a neutral in device and source.

Hey, Louie... I drug my splitter outta the trailer so I could show you a fancier adapter/splitter. I made a portable mini-panel to use on jobsites that didn't have enough outlets to run the job. The electrician always lit up a range or dryer circuit that nobody ever utilized I have a twin-tank compressor that can toggle to 220/110. I added a 220 outlet specifically to run the comp on 220 without changing plugs/making another pigtail. I put it all on gfi's for jobs that required them. Have several pigtails to adapt/fit whatever 220 was wired up....

That is what I have been reconsidering to build as I mull this over.
Putting breakers in to control circuits "properly"

Will have to go back and look, but it seems like it is a 50 Amp (way too big) breaker on that circuit.

Now it is a matter of going with an "extension cord" to get the power where I set up.
I see where you did the same.

Your finger is in the way, is that 6 or 8 gauge you used for an extension cord.

it is not an extension cord. It is just a piece of a 6 foot pigtail with the male and female ends, that I added to make an adapter. Don't know what gauge, without digging it out again. Homey Depot has all the pigtails and whatever 220 plugs a guy would need...

His cable is SOOW cord which is a great HD cable made to be used as permanent run, but it's overkill as it's rated to 600V. SJOOW cable is basically the same, but is rated to 300V, and 10 gauge is rated for 30A. Home depot or any decent supply house will have SJOOW cord in 10/4 which is what you will need to set this up. Though I am confused when you say you have 3 hots and a neutral. If it's a 230/240V 30A it should have two hots, a neutral and a ground. Take a picture of the receptacle or read the plug configuration which should be written on the plug face. Should be NEMA 1430 or such.

Two hots and a neutral.
Too bad this site does not allow editing of previous posting

Again as with the first post, I should have me more concise with my wording.

Have my plan and thanx to huntsman22 have an expanded/improved idea. idea.

AND this is within that "magic edit time" period whatever it is.

It does, but for a limited time.
