If he shot that group the day the wind had the flag in the pic standing straight out, that would make it unfathomable. Other worldly in any conditions.

I'm just hoping I can shoot at all at that age.

Amazing! My most accurate rifle is a 300 wsm with a 10 twist 4 groove brux. Mine has a 24" fluted #4 on a predator action and only weighs 7 pounds without the scope.

A local gunsmith challenged me with it at the 1000 yard range a few years ago and I shot a 1000 yard 2.5" 3 shot group at 1000 with witnesses. Three is one thing but to do that with 10 rounds is unreal. That was off a Harris bipod and rear bag. I was using Norma brass, h4831sc, cci 250, and 208 amaxes that day at 2850 mv.

I've had several 300 wsms over the years. I bought one of the very first ones that came out. They have all been capable of 1/2 moa except 1 rem 700 that was never better than 1 moa.

I know Norma brass gets a bad rap too but my Norma 300 wsm brass has been exceptional.

I've been wanting a 300 prc but I've thought about a fast twist 300 wsm on a long action instead. My current load runs 215g Berger hybrids at 2800.

Gotta say the old guy is a better shot than I am. Stick has posted some targets that did have holes in them. Nothing special though.

I hate to break this to you, but at 1,000 yards, three (3) shots isn't a "group" it's a start......

Well, I'm pretty sure the guy didn't throw his heavy bench rifle on the ground before shooting the group either......
