Picked up a 44 byf it has no nazi eagles on it looks like it never did can anyone tell me the history on that?

Maybe a Russian capture/rework that was partially scrubbed.

probably light stamp to begin with, worn or srubbed. the rifle has seen better days.

Mine is a BCD 44, Nazi markings every where. However no serial number other than the barrel, bolt and parts and floorplate. Nothing on the receiver. 44 was getting later, and I'm there were many shortcuts in production. It might have been "scrubbed" in a refurbish by an arsenal years ago as well.

I've seem some like that before. Only making was the last two digits of the year.
It my understanding that very late in 44 the Germans were cutting every corner possible to just get the rifles out of the factory. A rifle with no markings will still shoot.
