Junior called yesterday, Seems like he'll be spending the next few years in Savannah. I believe he'll be on Hunter, the Army base.

He seemed excited it, on the coast and he loves water.....

Just curious about the area, things to do, fishing, beaches, He loves Scuba. Weather,

How's the humidity in the summer?

Any info would be appreciated, Hope we get to visit him soon and often.

I haven't spent much time in Savannah but have been a couple of times.
It's a nice place. The humidity in the summer will be rough if he isn't accustomed to it.

it's typical of most Georgia cities these days. Racial unrest, Black run, violent.

May be able to find some hog/deer hunting within a couple hours drive? Fishing shouldn't be a problem.

Lots of history, plenty of things to do outside, but it’s miserably hot and humid from May to November.

Used to be a good place for learning how to fly a Huey. And get drunk.

If you guys think Savannah's hot in summer..

It's running 88-90 here every day now, already. 'cept when it rains for 3 days straight.

Lol.

I believe it was formerly used for flight training, Then I believe the Army Rangers took it over.

A lot of history, beautiful old homes, River Street has a lot going on, good eats. The coast is beautiful. Plenty of fishing and water related activities. Tybee Island is a great place to spend the day. Yes it is humid in the summer but the winters are mild.

I have lived about 50 miles west of Savannah all my life. Never noticed it being miserably hot. Can be humid. Lots of history and the area is big into preservation and restoration. Beaches and fishing are close. Hunting isn’t far off with Fort Stewart a large area that provides public access. Several state and Federal areas close too. Lots of charter boats for fishing and public ramps if you bring your own boat.
Back last year when all the rioting and protests were going on, nothing was happening in Savannah. There are areas that are best to avoid, but the tourist areas have people walking all over them all the time. I’ve never had a problem and don’t worry about anything happening when I’m there.
Great little city with a lot to see and do.
