School me on the 20-222.
Wanting to build a 222 but the 20-222 intrigues me.
Anybody built or using one?

To me I guess the triple deuce is so awesome that I would never mess with it, perfect the way it is. why not a 20 fireball or 20-223 ??????????

I think the 222 case is more user friendly over the Fireball case...
I have built a 20 Practical, which is essentially a 20/223. Its a good cartridge, not much difference between it and the 223... and also not much difference in it and the 204 Ruger.
with the long neck, that is why I think the 223 case is the most user friendly....
currently working with a 17 Fireball.. if I was going strictly wildcat, I'd have used a 222 case instead.

. I would be inclined to agree with John. I love the deuce and am building another one...Ive never messed with the .20-222 wildcat mainly because there isn't much bullet selection in the .20 cal..it is strictly a varmint proposition. With the .222 and a variety of bullets I can ( and have...) gone from ground squirrels up to deer and hogs comfortably.

Staying 222 is by far the easiest.

I have lefty mini Mausers in 6mmx222 and 25x222(being finished at PacNor right now) and another mini Mauser yet to barreled to 222. If I can find another lefty mini Mauser it will become a 20-222.

In my 20 Practical, I run two Hornady Bullets...
The 32 V Max and the more fun 24 gr NTX Lead free bullet.

That’s interesting. I wonder how it compares to the 204 Ruger, velocity-wise.

Probably be whatever the difference is between the 222 and 222 Mag.
Even though the 204 Ruger is based off of a modified 222 Mag case so it will gain a dab more velocity I suspect the difference between the 204 and 20 Bob kitty to be close to the same difference.

Should not really offer anything over a 20/223 or 20 Practical that I can see... but thanks for bringing it to the table....I think guys like to have something different over just something that is the same thing in a different box... I'm boring, dull and practical.... not Trendy and Cool....so it just may be me...
