I'm not much for spending a lot of money on the latest electronics technology today, a TV that sells for $2500 today will sell for $600 a couple of years from now. I was looking at a 75" TV for $699 the other day that had just been marked down from $999 because it was a 2020 model. Unless you're a hard core gamer or videophile the picture on any 4K TV now is far better than anything we ever had in the past. There really isn't a reason to buy a top of the line set for 99% of us.
TCL and Hisense seemed to offer the best bang for the buck right now. A lot of TCL sets are Roku if your wife wants that. Of course they're chinese but the rest of them are mostly made in China anyway, you're going to get chinese with a Samsung also even though they're a korean company. I wouldn't pay extra for a name.
