With the lockdown in Ontario, I will have some extra time in the shop. I have 1500 pieces of once fired IVI brass, 1000 of which I converted to 6x45mm cases. For those who are not aware, the 6x45mm is merely 223 Rem necked up to 6mm. I got two bags of completely processed brass that only needed to be necked up. I had intended on taking 40 223 Rem rounds to the range tomorrow with some 6x45 loads I loaded 20 cartridges with 65 gr bullets made with J4 jackets and 20 cartridges with rimfire jackets, but that the shoot will have to wait for 30 days.

Funny you mention once fired 223 brass. I just got a 100 pack of Win. and a 100 pack of CDC brass. It has the crimped pocket so I am scraping that out for priming. I got the 200 cases for 10 bucks. The CDC brass seems like really good stuff. The WIn. brass is mixed with reloads and once fired so they are not all the same.

That 6x45 is a fun little cartridge. I've been playing with one myself, since I have been seeing more 6mm bullets on the shelves than anything else, besides .338 bullets.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

The once fired I got is former Cdn military brass. IVI. Resized, cleaned, trimmed, the primer pockets swaged and ready for a 223. All I had to do was run it over the 6x45 expander ball.
I like this particular cartridge. I have built two bolt actions. I swapped the barrels out, changed the triggers and the stocks. They both shoot quite well. Both have Shilen select march barrels. I am very happy with both. 🙂
