There is a local Mossberg Silver Reserve New in Box with 2 sets of Barrels a28 Ga and a20 ga it is unfired. the guy wants $ 1200. 00 for it. should I buy it... I have been looking for a 28Ga But have mostly given up. it has some very nice walnut, But because of what has happened to me in the past year I don't know if I would get the use from it I want.. is that a good buy.. thanks all.

To me the beauty of a 28ga is the receiver sized appropriately (i.e. small and lively). Is this one larger to accommodate the 20ga also? That would influence my decision

It would have to be 20 gauge sized.

I think it's $250-$300 overpriced. He probably paid around $900 new. The triggers on these O/U's tend to be pretty heavy and it will be heavier than a dedicated 28 ga. O/U. Unless you want/need both a 20 ga. and 28 ga. gun, I'd hold out for a 28 ga. or make a lower offer .

I saw somewhere that the triggers got good reviews. There are advantages to having a 20ga 3" gun along with the 28ga, even though the 28 is a bit bigger than most 28'.
