I have thousands of these Roo bullets (and LRPs) and probably oughta use some... Getting to 4000 FPS is not necessary, LOL. Will be for a short suppressed bolt gun.
Have the full range range of Ramshot powders on hand, though I'd prefer not to use my TAC here if possible... Is Big Game the one to try then? Any direct experience is appreciated. I'm a generic Campfire load junkie anymore.

No experience with such, and no interest really...but curious enough to run a QL powder profile. I'd say Big Game or X-Terminator would be the best choices. Cartridge : .243 Win.
Bullet : .243, 55, Nosler Varmag HP 17245
Useable Case Capaci: 51.547 grain H2O = 3.347 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 2.500 inch = 63.50 mm
Barrel Length : 20.0 inch = 508.0 mm
Predicted Data for Indicated Charges of the Following Powders.
Matching Maximum Pressure: 60000 psi, or 413 MPa
or a maximum loading ratio or filling of 110 %
These calculations refer to your specified settings in QuickLOAD 'Cartridge Dimensions' window.
C A U T I O N : any load listed can result in a powder charge that falls below minimum suggested
loads or exceeds maximum suggested loads as presented in current handloading manuals. Understand
that all of the listed powders can be unsuitable for the given combination of cartridge, bullet
and gun. Actual load order can vary, depending upon lot-to-lot powder and component variations.

I know, the horror of using light bullets. Nosler lists them, (BC): NO Will look at Big Game. Thanks man. Much appreciated.

Good luck boomer. I'm going to be picking up 12-16 pounds of ramshot powder tomorrow. TAC, Big game, Hunter and maybe some exterminator.. I've had good luck with ramshot powder. Let us know how that big game works in the 243..

Different round but same powders. With my .358 Win. I find I can get full power loads with the slightly faster X-Term vs TAC without as much compression. The both work well. JB’s famous .358W article featured TAC.

What do you think of the SHOTS bullets? Well, there's a lot of them. That's as far as I've gone.

What do you think of the SHOTS bullets? Nosler Ballistician told me once, they sell a boatload of them in Australia, dispatching Kangaroos with them...

Big game should work very, very well. Play with primers, and try some 60g Sierra's if you have any. My 243 Win has zero freebore, and 55 whistle along very well at 4150 out of a 26" barrel.
If you can find any, AA2700 with these bullets has one of the coolest heat indexes of any powder, which means that it burns in the throat much cooler.
Varget worked very well with the 55's, but it is very rough on barrels and tough to get out of the barrel if you like cleaning down to bare metal.

MtnBoomer, what is the twist rate on your .243 Win barrel? The reason I ask is I bought a thousand of the 6mm 55 gr Nosler SHOTS bullets for my Stevens (Savage) .243 and the 1 in 9.25” twist keyholes those bullets when I tried to push them close to velocity potential. At very high velocity, the bullets would not stay on an 8 1/2” x 11” target at 100 yards. If I slowed them down (using minimum charges of fast burning powder, Accurate 2015), to around 3200 FPS, they would sort of group at 100 yards, 1.5 - 2.0 MOA. I am saving the last 850 in case my son follows through on his threat to build a 6x45 AR with a 1 in 14” twist barrel. That should be the perfect match for these very thin jacketed bullets. Hopefully you will have better results than I did. Then again, if you aren’t trying for 4,000 FPS, or half inch groups at 100 yards, they might be perfectly acceptable for your purposes. This same rifle does shoot very small groups with the Nosler 70 gr Varmageddon or Speer 70 gr TNT with close to max charges of Ramshot Big Game at over 3500 FPS.

A 1 in 14" twist 6x45 would be almost useless. My 1 in 8 stabilizes bullets from 58gr (lightest I've tried) to 100gr (heaviest I've tried). It would likely stabilize bullets weighing less and more than what I have listed, but those are what I've tried so far.

Blue Dot is real good for that bullet weight in the 243.

Blue Dot is real good for that bullet weight in the 243. You use blue dot in everything.

Blue Dot is real good for that bullet weight in the 243. You use blue dot in everything. when applicable and does good service... giving roughly 3000 fps range with full pressure or close to it...in that application it fits... at 2500 fps or so, that bullet will act more like a SP, than a varmint bullet, being a trained combat medic, you learn alot about wounds and what a bullet can do or will do... so I chose a bullet or speed to fit the application desired... BD is accurate, easy on the barrel in volume shooting, and reduces felt recoil... but like the guys who say they put Varget on their corn flakes, Blue Dot is NOT good on cornflakes, unless you are a democRAT.... then it'll BLOW your MIND....
