I sold my custom Gold Cup to fund my SAA. I decided to go a 3 guns set based on revolvers, since revolvers are more fun to shoot. Not what I would call "ideal" bullseye guns, but all 3 are about as accurate as I can expect from a revolver. A proper target Python should have a 6" barrel, but I never cared for the 6" Python, and my 4" shoots as well as I can shoot it.

I do a bit better with the 22/45, but don't seem to have a target pic.

This 44 Mag Ruger Bisley has a lot of potential I haven't tapped into. A basic handload I put together. 250gr cast SWC and Unique.

I don't take many photos when I'm out shooting, or at least not photos of targets.

Here's the first 6 rounds out of my OMT, offhand (two handed hold) at 15 yards.

And the first 6 rounds out of the Python, same hold, same distance

If I'm doing my part, these guns seriously perform. Not quite as good as my auto's, but enough to be competitive in a local match.

The Model 52 is my reality check, factory checked to 2" at 50 yards for 10 shots, I can't do that, offhand. I can hit 1" at 25 yards however.

Just had this built on a MK II for ISU and the CMP .22 Distinguished match. Rear sight is a Kensight copy of the old BoMar BMCS. Excellent pistola. It has a Clark steel trigger set at 2.2 lbs.

My .38 I used for the NRA Distinguished Revolver and the Harry Reeves Memorial matches. I got pretty good shooting DA in the timed and rapid fire phases.

Colt Officer's Model and a pretty good slow fire target, 25 meters. Might have to come up a click.

My current Colt 1911 competitive service pistol. Built by former AMU gunsmith Justin McMillan. Target fired at 50 yds, 10 shots from a machine rest.

A good rapid fire target, fired with an accurized M9. Also built by McMillan

RGK,

Did you ever know SGT Cris Murray of the AMU? Co- inventor of the 6.8 SPC. Worked with a lot of special mission unit guys/projects and contracts.

I’ve only shot competition with the Volquartsen Classic conversion but hope to do more in the future. When I’m serious about groups these are my favorites - Volquartsen Classic, FA 83 357 and LB Boss 1.5”.

No. Sounds like he worked in the AMU "skunk works" down in the basement where all the rifle work and secret squirrel stuff went on. Us pistol guys stayed out of there...I guess they were afraid we'd touch something or ask a dumb question.

Could have been a timing thing as well. Cris and I worked together for a number of years. To say the guy was a talented weapons guy would be quite an understatement. When Cris and MSG Holland were developing what would eventually become the 6.8 at Benning, they got permission from the Post Commander to go test their projects on wild boar at night. He had some entertaining stories. Funny dude.
