I lost my little Buck Rival 363 that I've carried for years. While looking for a new one, I found this item on Ebay. A 363 and a 365 packaged together for only a few $$ more than either one separately. The price is too good. Does that sound like it could be a fake?

Never mind. I checked the Buck website. The 365 is no longer made. They've replaced it with the 366. That can explain the low price. I bought it. I can always use an extra knife.

Don't know what the price was . . . don't care . . . if you are pleased, that is all that counts. One can never have too many knives or screwdrivers.

I'm not sure producing fake Buck knives would be a worthwhile venture. I imagine somebody just bought out a closing store or storage building and is clearing out the inventory.

The Chinese will fake anything that can make them a yuan.

Iirc, i have a little Buck with China on the blade base. Im thinking i heard they were having some numbers made there.

Yep, its a little Buck 379 with a sharpened down a fair bit blade with good spring, dark btown scales, and the old metal medallion with imprinted hammer on a knifes blade.

The Buck 119 knife is investment grade. The price never drops. The bad thing is everybody knows it.

As to their origin...Buck went overseas for awhile but then came back. I think current models are made here. That's not to say that even now, quite some time after their move back, there could be China models still in the pipeline.

There's a difference between a company having stuff made there and cheap fakes.

I live 25 minutes from the buck knife works. If you ever get to post falls idaho stop there and get a tour of the plant. They will sharpen you buck knife for you. I have a 110 folder that I bought at a yard sale and they put the blade back in great shape for me. Also carrey a buck every day.

I had one of those in the 60's but it came apart after several hunting trips where i camped out with buds who practiced knife and hatchet chunking at a big oak tree's trunk.

Dayom.

I bought a delightful 283 Nano Bantam (Cat 10379) and lost it the first or second time I carried it, somehow. Just ordered and received its replacement a couple days ago, direct from Buck. It says USA right under the model number - and it's on sale now for $14. The box says "US Made of US and Import Parts". They charge $9 for Priority Mail shipping, but it's still a great little pocket knife for $20-ish.

I went to that sight, gave them my email addy and they sent me a coupon code for 20% off an order. I ordered two personalized knives for myself and my son, $122.12 delivered. Good deal.

Thanks for the link.
