Oh boy! Makes me want a Lab puppy right now, even though I have a 9-year-old under my feet.

I've lived in a more-or-less continuous Lab world since for 50+ years, though the first belonged to my major hunting mentor. Got my first at 20, and except for a few months here and there, have never been without one since--often more than one.

Beautiful dog and photo.

He's a male. That's a pic when he was 10 weeks old. He's 4.5 years old now. I found this pic when I was looking around.

He was one from a litter of 11,...a blood line of field Labs from up north. He's a "houndy" looking, duck dog type Labrador.

I brought him home at 8 weeks. I expected him to exhibit separation anxiety for a few days but it never happened. He moved right in,...slept all night the first night home.

He's been spoiled rotten yet he's a good buddy. He isn't inclined to roam even though he still has his balls,...lol,... I couldn't bring myself to neuter him.

He lives around the house and never causes any problems.

I've been running him since he was about 8 months old and he's slim and muscled up,...can cover a lot of ground in a hurry.

As for plans,..I'm just going to continue spoiling him. He's demonstrated that it doesn't damage his disposition,..so he gets the run of the place.

I've got my eye on a neighborhood brown lab, that I've told the owners, when they breed it... they have a fish on the line here...

a brown lab and a golden retriever...

Beautiful dog there, Bristoe. I never understood people leaving their dogs outside. If it's not with you, why have one? At one point, we had four beagles, all indoors, and all spoiled rotten. Neither we nor they seemed to mind.

Great looking pup and I'm glad (but not surprised) that he turned so well. I had four at once for a long time and life was never better.

Much of his blood line is from here. He looks like those long muzzled, rangy Labs that they breed up north.

We’ve got a male black Lab on the way. The pup should be ready to come home in mid June. Hopefully, he will be a top notch hunting dog for us. It will be the first Lab for us. My family, particularly my boy, is getting pretty excited about getting him. He will certainly add a lot of fun to this summer. He should be ready for doves in 2022.

You'll enjoy having a Lab. Just give him a few months to stop wanting to chew up everything. They get over it.

Like them, but you can keep the mountains of dog hair.

I will stick with my German wirehairs, with 85% less shedding.

My 14 year old Black Lab goes everywhere with me. He was retrieving geese February 14 th and is enjoying his off season. He’s a legend locally. Tough watching him decline. Happy Trails

My three are 101% outside dogs.

Their coats right now look like some shaggy thick 70s carpet. They go swim in the branch water about 15 times a day lol. The yellow one is seemingly wet and drippy most of the day. 😃

I got some negro wool picks and combs from Dollar Tree this and have already started brushing them out. In about another month, I start using a horse curry comb and pull out the thick wads and tufts.
I take them back to a campsite here on the place 1/2 mile from the house cause I dont want all that crap blowing around my smoker, grills and patio.
