Picked up a nib Winchester Bigbore in 356 about a year ago. I’ve been shooting 35’s for 40 yrs now and dearly love them. I used the last of my 220 speers so started playing. Some of the bullets I’ve tested in the 356 are:

Speer 180 flat tip at 2600 fps. It will consistently shoot 1.5” at 200 yrds. and will penetrate into the sixth milk jug of water. This load will slap any deer or hog silly! Never recovered a bullet all pass through.

Hornady 250 round nose (filed flat). I easily reach 2150 fps and get 1.5 - 2” groups at 200 yrds. This is the load I use for hogs or black bear over bait. I’ve never recover a bullet in an animal, even length wise on 300 lb boars.

Woodleigh 225 round nose (filed flat), I get 2350 fps and the bullet ends up in the 7th milk jug. With out a crimp groove I sit them on top of a case full of H4895 and use a Lee factory crimp die. I’m really pleased with the woodliegh and may switch to it for my best snd hog load.

I have several hundred 180 & 200 gr barns ttsx’s. I’m planning on pulling the tips and seeing how they shoot.
