OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Senate has passed a Republican-backed bill that seeks to crack down on protesters.

The bill passed Wednesday would increase penalties for blocking roadways and grant immunity to motorists who kill or injure rioters.

The measure now heads to the governor’s desk. The bill’s author Sen. Rob Standridge says the bill was prompted mostly by an incident in Tulsa last summer in which a pickup truck drove through a crowd gathered on a Tulsa interstate while protesting the death of George Floyd.

Several people were injured, but the driver wasn’t charged.

I sure am glad my ancestors stayed here and toughed it out when everyone else was going to California back during the depression. Makes me proud

Put the moose bumper on the pickup to avoid sheet metal damage.

That old boy had a nice dually. As far as I'm concerned, he was totally justified. He feared for his horses.

What's the chance the governor will sign it?

We may know the time Ben Carson lied, but does anyone know the time Hillary Clinton told the truth?

Who gives two craps about his horses (and I like horses), the dude was simply driving down the highway and a mob of idiots was in his way trying to get attention. As far as I'm concerned, he was totally justified because he was driving on a road. That is what you do on roads.

Protests, even in error, are OK.
Tearing chit up and or blocking legal travel of others is not protesting.

IMHO stopping somebodys legal travel and or surrounding them is a threat.

Play in the street, become a speed bump.
