Yesterday, during one of my walk arounds at a gun show to get the circulation going from table sitting seen a 99 H in 25-35. Approximately 1914 (173xxx) in nice shape.....cept D/T and wearing a scope. For $950, I was very tempted, but kept walking. Don't see em in that caliber very often. Still thinking.....

Not in a position to buy, so I didn't investigate further.

About 30 or so 99’s at a show here in PA today. The vast majority were 300 SAV,, but almost all were in pretty nice shape. Good to be getting out.

of the very few 99s I have encountered in 25-35, all were in poor condition. Winchester 94s in 25-35, on the other hand, range from good to mint

I looked for a 99 in .25-35 for a long time. The only ones I found had awful bores. I finally found an 1899F with an okay bore, after cleaning it with JB bore compound it was shootable. However the outside of the gun had been steel wooled and it had a broken stock. Nice shooter though. I've actually not seen anything chambered in .25-35 that had a good bore. Not sure why.

There was a.25-35 SRC with extra holes that had been nicely filled and re-blued at the Bloomsburg Show 10 or so years ago.

It's not for sale but just to let you guys know there is a good one in existence. I have an 1899H in 25-35. It's pictured on pages 44 and 45 of "A Collector's Guide..." It will also be pictured in the new book as an example of a special feature 1899. The checkering and high grade wood is why it is in the new book. The lighting makes the receiver look gray. It still has a lot of the high gloss blue on the receiver and the bore is good.

Wow, I must have one of the few with a great bore. No pitting or roughness and shiny.
