Darn it! Posted this in the wrong forum.
I have a Remington 700 204 ruger along with several hundred 32 gr. VMAX and 26 gr. Barnes bullets. I have very little H322 left and would like to use some of the several lbs of RL 7 that I have on hand. Anyone have any pet loads using RL

Thanks

Alliant Reloder-7 is about the middle of the pack (I didn't copy all the results). Like said about, it's a little fast.

sorry guys, but having used it a lot, I beg to differ....

pointed out the reason right here....

https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbt...959/204-ruger-and-reloder-7#Post15998959

I run a lot of RL 7, in that cartridge, followed by being rebarreled to 20 Practical..

but also run it a lot in the 223, and the 22.250...

it has a very useful service life, and is very accurate in each of those cartridges and doesn't give up much to other slower powders in velocity potential...

I'm always in the minority, that thinks if it worked in old school philosophy, it'll still work now...

Sorry, I didn't think I implied it was unusable, just a little fast and in the middle of the pack of usable powders. It happens to reach P Max at a lower fill ratio then other slower powders but if that's all you have, go for it and be careful.

Appreciate it Mick, you are evidently a lot more technical on the subject than old Seafire...

but in 20 plus years of use, experimenting in the highs and lows, it and me pretty much have each other figured out.

I'm not short any components, because I was buying what was on sale as soon as things started appearing on the shelves after Trump got elected..

not so much a hoarder as a smart buyer...

I've got plenty of Benchmark, H 322, 4895 etc.

Its just a viable powder in those ranges...but then I am again, not part of modern day philosophy, the fuller the case, the better it should be..

start low, work up and I don't need the very max velocity out of what I shoot... makes components and barrels last a lot longer..
