It snowed here in upstate NY just this past thursday. I remember back in 1986 or 87 we got 4 - 5" on mothers day.

April is typically one of the snowiest months here in Colo., Just had 7" Thursday into Friday and have another 4"-8" coming tonight. Just another day and we need the moisture, so no complaints here.

Pretty short warm season For some of you folks. Highs in the 60s and 70s all week here. Darn near ideal weather. Rain is finally slacking off too!!! smile

April 14th 2000 Kalispell, Montana.

By the morning of the 15th, a Saturday we'd accumulated 30 inches of fresh spring snow in the valley.

The county had already pulled all the plows off the dumps they use to plow snow. The valley was at a standstill, good thing it was a weekend.

Front page of the Daily Interlake read "Surprise, Its a Blizzard".

Thankfully we had about 6" of heavy wet stuff last weekend. We were looking at below normal soil moisture levels and Lake Winnipeg is very, very low. We needed it.

You two are carrying on like this is strange to you. How long have you lived in Montana? I've seen 8" in Whitefish in early June, 26" near Eureka (up Grave creek) on August 20, and, commonly, mountain snowstorms on July 4. OP is right, newcomers need to be prepared.

Our part of this state, this is the norm. We are a spring-storm country.

Mountains got over 50" this past week. Red Lodge added a bonus weekend skiiing because of it. I cleared over 5" of heavy wet settled snow off the girls' outfits this morning. Started with rain last night so I am not sure yet how much moisture we ended up getting. Not enough, but it is a start.

I lived in this state for about 3 years and saw it snow in every month of the year. Not necessarily in the mountains either.

I believe we are sitting at about 7" right now and a bit more to come here near Buffalo WY. We need it! The snow chart shows 50"-75" depth in the Bighorns.

Send some of that schitt our way. It might drive some of the pussies out of the Boise Valley.

A bunch of them were crying a few years ago over four feet of snow in the valley. But hell, it never got below fifteen degrees.

I would like to see some decent snow with minus thirty for about thirty days. That'l send the light weights scrambling back to Cali again.

Yesterday over in the northern end of the Valley, 85F
72 or so here when we got home.

Freezing this morning.

Now, last year, a bit different.

Taken 0813 on 8June2020, after the sun was up and started melting the overnight snowfall.

Almost tropical California.

Possible snow in the forecast later this week. And we need it.................but it seems it's only a 30% chance of anything falling, frown

Nothing like 30-40 mph winds and heavy wet snow in April. The only good part is I’m not shoveling this chit, I’ll let it melt. But it was flat nasty last night. I hope it scared away some California transplants laugh

This was a nothingburger of a winter, far as I'm concerned. Put the plow on the truck, maybe used it a whole hour in late Feb. We have a 298 Cat, only needed to push off the shop yard aprons to the highway three times, a total of maybe another 90 minutes.

But yeah, yesterday was kind of icky poo. But this year, I bet it snows in July. On the Fourth.
