I bought that exact model rifle last year. Glad I did. I think that is the best one they made. I wish they made one in an 06' also.

Outpost Armory listed two more FC's. They both just ended. The 7,62x39 prototype brought$ 2385 for winning bid. The other one was the 22" threaded barrell (black /green) 6.5 CM that didn't get an opening bid ($2200)

Maybe the threaded barrel... not so much.

If the 7.62x39 would have been a heavier threaded barrel, I'd have bid on it. As it was, I did not see it as a big practical improvement over my Ruger American Ranch. I'd like to have one of the proto mini-actions, but not sure I want to pay that much for one.

Just posted this in my thread about how Fieldcraft rifles are never coming back. Confirmed this morning by a Barrett rep. (I emailed them through the website yesterday.)

oh well

if they would have made a 7 twist 223 with a 2.5" coal mag box that would have been grail stuff..

or a 6arc, or even 6br.

but as is the trigger is marginal, the bolt stroke sucks, trigger reach and chin weld along with butt heavy stock design is a pass.

couple that with marginal scope mounting options, and basic or standard chambering i don't see what the fuss is about.

I think it’s pretty well common knowledge the SA 21” slick barrels are not the best balanced models. The LA 24” or the LE versions of 6.5 CM with 22 or 24” are well balanced however . I have no problem with the trigger (Timney) . I will agree the bolt strike does not make think wow this slicker ‘n sh it. But the good outweighs the bad easily to be. YMMV
