I haven’t woke up on the side of the road in Florida since I was 20 yo.

How much further to the Keys?

We stopped at a rest area about 2 in the morning got up at day break got breakfast and just stopped at another rest area so Brian could get a few more zzzs. Just outside Tallahassee

The jet is at the Pensacola rest area but it's on the westbound side, my guess was close.

Long ways to go to the Keys, damn near another 600 miles to Marathon

Hopefully the rain we are currently having passes before you get this far down the state, it's been pretty intense at times.

You guys might want to consider bailing off the Interstate just past Tallahassee and head down US19 for a ways especially if this rain keeps up.

You'll experience absolutely zero traffic on 19 all the way to Crystal River then you can pick I-75 south back up anywhere after that.

If it tells ya to take the toll road (589 / Suncoast Parkway) do it, more zero traffic all the way to Tampa. It gets a little funky by the airport in Tampa but not so bad, just keep to the right.

It'll hit I-275 in Tampa, shoot you through St Pete then across the Sunshine Skyway where you'll pickup 75 again.



Drive safe, a lot of old farts on the roads in these parts.
