OP Ironeyes Campfire Greenhorn I Joined: Mar 2021 Posts: 52 Florida	Picked up a few savage axis in 243 for free in last years Wallyworld clearance. Promised 1 to my youngest since she's getting into hunting. I had no money invested ($49 gun with $50 rebate) so I told her she could pick a stock. Well, a Boyds thumbhole, limbsaver pad, Mcarbo spring/shims, talley rings and nikon 2.5-10x44 and she's a happy huntin buddy

Plus, she looks fully and completely "gruntled"! Bore size is no substitute for shot placement and Power is no substitute for bullet performance. 458WIN

Now at 38 years old, she wants me to teach her son and daughter how to shoot. The apple never falls far from the tree even though you have to wonder sometimes! She's been deer hunting with me in PA for 2 seasons now with a crossbow. The rifle should improve her success!
