The old scam would be to create an account and make bunch of posts to appear legitimate. Now, they simply hack the account of a member in good standing and try and make a few deals before anyone catches on. My account on Hunt Talk was hacked and they tried to sell some Swaro binos under my name. Unfortunately, I dont check in there as often as I do here so the scammer was able to go for a few hours before someone caught on. Luckily he didn't get a payment from anyone. I never really had remotely hard to crack passwords for forums as I didn't really care. Save your good name and someone else some heartache and take 30 seconds to update/upgrade your password.

My brother in laws email got hacked, and the hackers just did the reset password on a lot of sites and received the email links to his email they were in and changed them to their password.
