Anyone have any input into the 2020-2021 Silverado 1500? Considering one. Reliability. Issues. Positives and negatives?
Also considering the 2.4L Turbo, as I don’t tow anything and good gas mileage is important because I get paid mileage for work travels. Drove one yesterday and it seems to have plenty of snap. Basic truck with nothing added on, 4x4 with a locking rear dif. Anyway, any personal experience input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My $.02. Buy a Tundra if you want reliability and resale value. The 2022 is getting a complete makeover, which should include much better fuel economy. Owned a 2007 Silverado. Never again.

Tundra’s last forever!! I had one until my son totaled it. Keep up on the maintenance and they will outlast your payments by many years.

I have bought the Ford F-150’s- V8 only for my salespeople and had great luck! Whatever you do don’t buy the eco boost if you go Ford! They absolutely suck!! I have had 3 and they were nothing but problems!!

I drive an F350 with the 6.2 and it’s been awesome. No issues after 132,000 miles.

Right now in Minnesota they are not dealing on trucks due to inventory being so low. They want sticker price for Trucks!!
I think I paid 10,000 off sticker in 2018

I will never buy GM again, not with their corporate anti-USA rhetoric. Was a loyal customer for 50 years, 3 vehicles still here, but never again.

GM is not on the side of America.

Find a 7.3 Ford Powerstroke. Mines a 2000 with 429,000 miles. Still has original starter. Word to the wise! Dont fudge with it by putting a K&N air filter & Bully Dog on it. Only modifications I made to mine is window visers. Still as strong as thd day I got it 21 years ago. I continue to drive it because I have faith in it. A new truck with the advanced emissions, electrical, etc. I'm afraid to touch

I’m on my 4th or 5th Silverado. Never had any significant issue with any of them, but I trade at 80,000 or so miles. Current one is a 2019 with 55,000 miles. It’s a 6.2L which has a lot of get up and go. I never pay attention to gas mileage but am guessing 20 hwy, 16 in town.

I have a 2019 Silverado and while I was never in love with it, its growing on me. Quiet, powerful, functional. Not as comfortable as the Dodge. Not as gimmicky as the Ford. I get 18-19 on the highway and 15 over all. Nothing bad to say about it at all. I would own a Dodge or a Ford but would never own a Toyota Tundra.

Read up on the 10speed transmission problems. Buddies with 2020 and 2021 have both had transmission problems.

The rural /ag area where I live, Ford 150’s outnumber Chevy 1500’s almost 2 to 1. There must be a reason.....

I have a 2020 Silverado 1500 with the 10 speed transmission, and no issues so far. I traded in my 2016 Silverado 1500 for it as the wife and kids hated riding in that truck. I really like my new one, it if you want luxury, get a Ram. My son drove my truck to work a couple of days while his 2009 Ram 1500 was down. He’s decided he’s going GMC or Chevy for his next truck. I will say this, the last truck I had any issues at all with, was a 1998 Dodge Dakota. I’ve had Fords, Toyota’s, Dodge (Ram) and Chevy’s no issues at all.

Having a half ton truck on a farm, makes about as much sense as, "Joe Biden" does !

FYI, the 'rear locker' on the GM half-tons is an electronic version which only kicks in when you are already in doo-doo. I prefer actual lockers that you can engage prior to doo-doo spots.

BTW, I have a 2010 GMC 1/2 ton Sierra Z71. 124,000 miles and no issues other than wearables. I plan to keep it on the road until about 2 years into the coming electric trucks being introduced. If I change my mind on the electric thing I'll get a Ram Rebel or Colorado ZR2.
