What is the best supplemental feed for lambs.
Not for weight gain but flavor?
These are Hair Sheep and very tasty as they are but always looking for improvement.

The pros that I knew Turned their lambs into fields of harvested sugar beets that had the tops still in the field.
They said the best gain possible. After they gain that was wanted they were sheared and then sent to slaughter.
PM Jim Conrad he raises sheep.

Thats cool!
The beet plant left here in the 50's.
Every year the lambs came to the valley to graze beet tops.
Were they scalped or did the lamb scalp them? I dont know.
When we eat one....we finish it on barley and hay.
These are about 130 pound animals though..
We like the barley flavor the best....but I will talk with my sheep mentor and see what he likes.
I am MAGA.
