For double square bridged and magnum length actions beyond what I assume Granite Mtn fulfills?
What about standard length?
I don't hear much about them anymore.

Yes. Down here we have Big Game Rifle shooting and the now discontinued CZ550 magnums are popular. Good value for the longer magnums like the 375H&H, 416Rigby and 500Jefferies and others (I think CZ-USA converted for 404Jeffery and 450Rigby). Ruger Tropicals (?) are also fairly common.
Don't see many custom 98s these days due to cost, especially with a dry up of cheap ex-mil actions.

Whatever you said...everyone knows you are a lying jerk. That's a bold assertion. Point out where you think I lied. Well?

Sarco sells a pretty nice Dumoulin action for building your custom. Not sure how “ready” it is. $295!
What fresh Hell is this?

BUTCH
Forgot all about the Satterlee's, so really 2 good options and a 3rd Dumolin that still needs work presumably...so any others would probably be same price point as the Granite Mtn and Satterlee and hopefully equal quality....there isn't really too much that needs innovated or "fixed" in the design.
So other than being able to produce them in large quantity at same quality level no real point.
Thanks guys,
Mike

I am somewhat surprised some company hasn't offered a finished standard length double square bridge receiver that would allow all parts from a K98 to be used, strip old Mauser and reassemble on new receiver.
I could go for that.
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

Then again, even Harry Selby’s famous .416 was built on a whittled 98, as well as IIRC, the Whitworth Zastavas. According to their listing, one should plan on some tweaking: squaring off stuff, lapping lugs, etc; pretty much what a military action would require, sans bolt-altering and receiver grinding of course. Hardness is “optimal”, according to Sarco. If I were considering one, I’d contact TC1, who knows a lot about this stuff, and has some real beauties. I miss his posts with all the pics of his stunners.

I appreciate all of the feedback keep it coming.
I'm not looking for a rifle was wondering if a highly developed machine shop would justify its expense in setting up manufacturing these or if the others are covering the demand at a fair enough price currently.
