I saw where Merrick Garland and the DOJ want to investigate Derek Chauvin for an incident a few years ago when he kneeled on a 17 year old's shoulders and neck area for over 17 minutes. Didn't they just admit that kneeling on George Floyd for 9 minutes shouldn't have caused his death?

They just convicted him of three different types of homicide on the same guy, so possibly they think these are gonna get overturned? Seems like overkill...

You can only kill someone once. I can see convicting someone if they are guilty of the single highest offense that meets the crime, but being convicted of killing someone in 3 different degrees seems like Double Jeopardy to me.

Seems like grounds for overturning the conviction very easily, to me.

In Canada, it is called the Kine apple principle, and it is to say that at least one of the other charges is found void for duplicity. Double Jeopardy for sure.

Looks like they're going to get him on tax fraud, too. Chauvin is dirty any way you look at it. There's probably some good cops out there needing your support. Chauvin isn't one of them.

Chauvin is a P.O.S. Cannot believe people defend him due to some blind allegience to cops.

I heard some talking head lawyer on the tv explaining the 3 charges but only caught part of it. It has something to do with the state law, he will be sentenced for all 3 but only serve time assigned to the harshest sentence.

Finally....you’ve said something I can agree with and what I consider to be a reasonable statement! It’s starting off to be a good day!
