Lost one calf this year. Momma was good to go. Just one of those weak calves that was born with something wrong with it. Seen those through the years, and nothing you can do about them in most cases.
Only have one left to calve out this year. Hope she does so soon. Otherwise it'll be a spring calf when I sell it.
We had two bunches of calves, one early and one coming now, because we bought some cows that were bred later than ours. Still have 4 left to go. No problems so far
The best calving weather I have seen around here in a long time. Very little rain, no snow. Crisp, bright sunny days for the most part. All the heifers calved without major issues. Two cows left to calve, knock on wood, hope they do well.
Sorry about the dead calf and wobbly heifer. This is the best calving year we've had. 41 for 41 live calves. We still have 5-6 left to freshen. Our only drawback was a cow that was starting to cast her withers and her and calf in her died. Started to calve on Mar 3 and last calf was April 7...
