Is it just me? A slim, light weight, 8+1 (12+1? w/ metal mags) 4" Bbl'ed compact GLOCK .40 Cal. EDC pistol. S&W has one that's close, in their Performance Center. ... but it's 6+1, essentially the same as the GLOCK slimline G36 .45 ACP. Waiting, since 1993. GR

Don't believe it will happen. Looking at how the 22/23 got beefed-up for Gen5, I seriously doubt a slimline will be built in .40.

My brother had a Shield just like the picture above and sold it about a month ago. He said it was not a lot of fun to shoot, "just too snappy" I never shot it.
I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

I know we love to split hairs.
I'd just roll with a Glock 23, and not feel like I was missing out on a thing.

Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

I had a 48. Sold it and stayed with a 43 for church and 19 for everywhere else.

I shot a Kahr polymer 40 S&W (they're slim) many years ago and found it slightly objectionable to shoot.
(and that was the same point in my shooting life that I was regularly shooting nasty 500 Linebaugh loads and 454 stuff, so it came as a bit of a surprise that I didn't like the recoil of the 40 Kahr)
I really do want a G48 though, but have zero use or reason for it. I was thinking I could put and RMR on it, then my "reason" would be I don't own a centerfire auto pistol with a dot. Just have to get creative with your excuses.
