Love it.

Ice cold, in a glass with salt and pepper.
In a bowl with mashed potatoes.
Often just chug a quart.

Back in the day when my grandparents bought it directly from the dairy there were actually small flecks of butter in it.

it's good, always have some in the icebox, plus 1 one on the salt and pepper.

All my drunks on the roofing jobs, I’d stop and get them a qt of buttermilk. Cept one dude, had to have his mtn dew

Set it up on the chimney cap in the morning sun. By 10:30, it’s good to go.

All them cultured critters....ease the hangover for my main man ‘Shaky Mike’. lol

Same here. Id near puke if i smelled the old man drink some, until one Sunday high school morn i was headed to Church and dying with a hangover.

Stopped by the filling station i worked at and asked the old Negro working there what to do. Told him i was dying. He told me and i stopped by the whatever and bought a pint. I mean, i almost fainted when he told me what i had to do. Wouldnt have done it but i was dying.

Held my nose and drank it and went to church. I think it saved me. Dont know which saved me first.

Now days youngsters have had a taste of spoiled homogenized milk and instantly associate the taste with that. Big mistake. I mean, rememder that first taste of a womans peach pie? whistle

Same here. I also like crumbling up cornbread in a bowl with buttermilk, salt and pepper and eating it like cereal. I remember seeing the yellow flakes in some brands back in the day.

My wife found a carton in the refrigerator on Sunday. She turned it into scones, pizza crust and an amazing lemon/blood orange cake. It was a good day.

The true aficionados will understand, when you get a really good quart, dump in a palm full of salt/pepper and shake like hell.....it's almost has a feel of being carbonated? Many times Ive tilted the quart , and just can't stop till it's empty....good chit.
