Jeep did a "Sport" but it was just a trim level. I am trying to think who else offered a "Sport"
Was the original "ranger" Broncos and f-100/150? Just a trim level?
Sounds like the new bronco/bronco sport is almost like the old bronco/broncoII... The original 66-77 Bronco came in a Sport trim. They also offered a Ranger and Explorer trim. I don’t think they were much more than badging, paint, and interior packages. I had a 74 Ranger and a neighbor had a 68 Sport. Mine was a 200CI 3sp and his was a 289/3sp but did have a PTO winch that I assume was dealer installed. They weren’t completely different models like the current Bronco/Bronco Sport offerings.

I know it’s a Bronco, but it ain’t a Bronco.
BINO Yeah but a Vette ain't a Vette anymore either. To me this thing looks like a 1961 International Scout. I say that as a compliment. Not disagreeing.

Thanks..I didnk know the Ranger trim started that early. But I don't see that many good examples that old. I guess it was late 70's early 80s when the brought out the Ranger compact pick-up and dropped the trim ... I think the 78 or 79 sunset paint scheme is the latest ranger trim badge I have seen...

It's alright,..it's pretty cool.
I don't think it'll put much of a dent in the Jeep Wrangler market though. Time will tell. The Bronco Sport isn't in the Wrangler market class. The Bronco, which will begin assembly in late May, early June, will be a definite competitor to the Jeep Wrangler and will likely displace it atop the heap.

Pictured is a 2021 Bronco on 33's vs a 90's Bronco on 37's and a lift.

Not yet. Some models are moving forward faster than others. I was an early subscriber, placing a reservation order the day it opened last July but so far I'm not seeing anything that makes me feel good about getting mine this summer.

I need to reread the options and see if Ford ever committed to putting the 3.5l engine in the Raptor version when it’s available,
