Fort Hood’s name, a subject of controversy, is set to be the next target of cancel culture.

By Joshua Pierce May 6, 2021

At a roundtable in Killeen, U.S. Rep. Roger Williams (R) stated that Fort Hood will possibly be renamed within two to three years. He declared this after meeting with numerous community leaders, saying, “We will take the aggressive stance on what the new name will possibly be at Fort Hood. We want the outside sources to listen to us, rather than us listen to them.”

“We want to make sure whatever name change may happen … has a connection to Fort Hood,” Williams continued. “We want to make sure that it’s done right, that the community has the say, not a say.”

Williams said the new name would come after a two- to three-year study.

In recent years, the name of Fort Hood has been subject to controversy, being named after Confederate General John Bell Hood.

During the latter part of his presidency, President Donald Trump vetoed a defense spending bill that authorized the renaming of bases named after Confederate leaders, saying, “These monumental and very powerful bases have become part of a Great American Heritage, and our history as the greatest nation in the world will not be tampered with.”

Trump’s veto was later overridden by Congress.

John Bell Hood as a traitorus [bleep] that wasted a whole army of good men doing the same [bleep] over and over expecting different results. The South should have hung him as a Yankee spy. Any old Yankee name will do, their going to do what they want to anyhow.

Probably rename it "Fort Al Sharpton."
