My original intent was to buy one of the discontinued Swaro 10x42 EL's. However, when I called the crew at CameraLand, they were out of them. Not wanting to shop around and buy them elsewhere, I ended up going with the Leica Geovid 10x42 2700's. I'm not 100% sold on the idea of range finding bino's, but y'all keep having such good things to say about them, I figured I'd take the plunge.
I'll report back after I've handled them for a while.

I suspect you'll be very happy with them

Awesome glass and 2 tools in one. I've had a couple different versions over the last 12 or so years and I can't say anything bad about any of them. I would imagine you'll feel the same way.
I sure could go for some $2.50/gal gas and a mean tweet!

I picked up a pair here in the classifieds in 8x42. Not sure what the model is but they were the newer type of geovids with poro prisms. I have been really happy with them. The view is great. RF seems accurate with instant reading. Also its not finicky about giving a reading, which I really like. Alot of times I can range on small stuff like hawks or whatever soaring birds are around.

Hope they work out for you. I’ve elected to stay with separate units, Leica RF and swaro binocs.
