That covers all the bases really, but if we need 10, let's add:

17 HMR
30-06
45-70
50 BMG

If it doesn't have Creedlord stamped on it, it is not perfect.

Ha! True that! But it’s the new redneck fad; haven’t you heard?

Maybe not perfect but best for what I do.
1. 22 LR.
2. .22WMR.
3. 223 WIN.
4. 6.5 CM.
5. 30-06.
6. 338 WM.
7. 9MM
8. .357M/38S.
9. 20 GA.
10. 12 GA

Close but no cigars: I have them but don't use them much these days.
.243 Win - haven't used mine since the kids grew up.covered by .223 and Creed.
7 mags -. I have an '06 for that.
.308 WIN - I have one in a Gunsite Scout. It is purely to have one in the chambering.
.300 Magnums -I have a .338 for that.
.375H&H - i have a .338 for that.
.45-70 - fun but not needed.

I have a bunch of others but they mostly sit in the safe and collect dust while the above go hunting anymore.

The answer is: the .270 Winchester/150 gr.

Now, what was the question?

If I had to pick 10 it would be:

22LR
22-250
6.5x55
7mm Rem Mag
9.3x62
375H&H
416 Rigby
410 Single Shot
20 Ga Double
12 Ga Pump

I could hunt anything on earth with that bunch.

But realistically all I need is
22LR
6.5x55
7mm Rem Mag
375H&H (or 9.3x62)
12 Ga pump

22 LR
.223
6.5CM
7mm08
7mm Rem Mag
338 Win Mag

The other 4 are just fluff.

It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

Everything I have is perfect for something at sometime or I wouldn't have it. What I don't need is someone telling me what or how much I should have of anything . End of Story. Mb

Perfect cartridges? That’s a tall order. It’s easy to design a complete battery, even with fewer, but that’s not same thing. I’d call the 22lr perfect because it shoots and kills way out of proportion to its size.

The 223, 308 and 9mm make the list by working so well for so much in so many platforms. I’d call the 280 the best balanced hunting round but, in truth, others could claim the same ground.
The 375? Do you have to ask? The design is dated but it’s the king of all arounders. A bigger round for giant beasts? Ok, but I’ll punt on that one to someone who’s done it. Shotshell perfection begins and ends with the 12.
A perfect cartridge? Probably the 6.5 CM. It seems to work just as designed. Traditionalists, including me, will just have to deal with it.

Petzal just likes to stir the pot a little.
That is what keeps things interesting, the pot is full of metal meltdown from(y'know)..the 7mm rem, short/fats, etc

I think that I could do the world with just these six rounds. Probably could leave off the .308 and make five do the job. Add in a handgun, either .357 Mag or .45 ACP.

.22 LR
.223
7mm Mauser
.308 Win.
.375 H&H
12 Gauge
