I ask this because ,if they steal your car or break in they will now have your name and address, maybe breaking in there .Same as they say dont leave your home address on your GPS. example .Some on my street ,their boss had someone break into his car and steal his laptop ,it had all emplyee's names and address on it ,that next day a groid ,broke into his house and stole stuff ,in broad daylight ,a woman took pic of him and car lic. ,car was stolen 100 miles away . they think they got address off the laptop

Every time I have been stopped by a cop they want DL ,insurance and registration. If your car is stolen ,so what if the thieves know were you live .They can find that out with a simple call to MV with your license plate number.

Have heard of thieves breaking in cars parked in long term at airports, then going to their homes assuming no one is there.
Don't fly, never park our vehicles anywhere likje that.

The way everything is online, it's a moot point. I do keep a hard copy In the vehicles.
Also as for people breaking in while on vacation, stay off social media. Everyone tries to be hush hush for security but then posts pic all over Facebook.. . Really?

You can keep the registration in your wallet but you have to give it to anyone else who drives it.

This is the situation in Colorado. If an LEO stops you and asks for your vehicle registration you have to produce it. So you must carry it in your vehicle. P.S. I keep the registration in the car, not the title. That's stays at home in the gun safe.

When traveling other than local I always have the original . If something blew-up and you did not want to fix it you could trade it off. Otherwise you cannot dispose of it .

Make a copy of your registration. Use a marker to black out your address. keep the copy in car. Doubt the redaction will pass the cop test.

Registration in car, insurance in wallet. You may need the insurance card if you rent or borrow a vehicle.
