I sure hope so. My other one (regular Fwt) is giving me fits. Now that the lease is idle, I'm going to swap out the scope, load up another batch of Match Kings, and try it again. So far it's been pretty inconsistent, so if this doesn't work I'm thinking it might go to someone for an examination and remedy. I really want it to a shooter as well. In the meantime, though, this SG will be a lot of fun.

It seems I have asked you before, but maybe not. Have you tried Seafire's load of 40 grains IMR 3031 to test for accuracy? I have used the load in the past with success, the most recent with a Model 70 Winchester pre-64 7x57 that the owner had a new 22" barrel put on it, because it wouldn't shoot. That did not help so he put it in a local gun shop on consignment. I bought it and loaded it with Seafire's load of 40 grs IMR 3031 and 140 gr Nosler BTs. It produced 2,700 fps and 1.5" 5 shot groups. I put it in the safe for later load development.

Thanks. No I haven't as I can't find any 3031 right now. Hopefully soon.

RevMike, I too have a model 70 Featherweight in the classic 7x57. I've developed several loads for it so far, but to date my favorite is a Nosler 120gr Ballistic Tip over 45grs of Varget.

I shot some test loads with the 120gr TTSX and H414. I only shot 16 of them so I didn't develop it any further. It was capable of around an inch.

This spring I bought a hundred of the Barnes TTSX 110gr flatbase and I tested both Reloader 17 and BigGame powder with that bullet. The RL-17 produced a 4shot group just under an inch and the BigGame wasn't as tight coming in around 1.25. The RL-17 netted an avg velocity of 2896 so I figure it'll do the job.

Just throwing it out there that I have 300 7mm 150 grain Ballistic tips and 50 Partitions all NIB if anyone is interested in a trade for .308, .452, or .375 Bullets.

The 120 TTSX do great in a 7mm08 I have. I’m gonna try them in a 284 Savage 99 soon. I’m hoping they shoot well in it.

Thanks. I have been wanting to try some of the 110 - 120 (T)TSXs on pigs. I'm expecting at the ranges I hunt - generally less than 100 yards - they'll work fine. Much appreciated.

It shot moa for 5 shots. Definitely good enough for hunting with.

That's one of the reasons I'm swapping out the scope for a FFII, at least for this test. The mounts are fine. The bedding could be an issue - BACO hot-glue - we'll see. I'm more of a hunter than a tinkerer, so if all this fails I'll need to consider some other alternatives. Thx.

BACO didn't use "hot glue". They actually used a good epoxy. Generally much better than you will find on the USRAC rifles.

If no one has a trade and you agree, I'll offer US currency for the lot.
