They will most likely vary with wood density but as an example of one, my SA Featherweight with WSM barrel channel was right at 30 ounces. That includes the recoil pad and sling swivel studs.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

I have one off a .308. I'll weigh it this afternoon when I get home.

About a 1/2 pound would be my guess. Buddy bought one(edge) here from the classifieds 2 weeks ago and it weighs at 21.5 ounces and it is a LA so yeah we are talking possibly a sub 6lb rifle

old thread, but I just weighed mine- even lighter than some of those posted above (weight is w/ recoil pad and swivel studs) 25.9 oz- that's pretty fricken' light for a wood stock!

Thinking to use one of these for a M70 LH. I suppose the barrel channel could be opened up to accomodate a standard sporter barrel. Can anyone surmise how the balance might be affected if the standard sporter barrel was trimmed from 24 to 23 inches?
The way life should be.

There are long action magnum “featherweights” with standard sporter contour barrels cut at 24 inches. They balance well to me, but I’m not big on azz-heavy rifles.
