Folks have long signed up at grocery stores for "member discounts".
They can track what you purchase. Always figured insurance companies would be interested in folks diets and alcohol/tobacco habits.

Markers in your DNA for many hereditary issues are already known. I see a time when insurance companies will raise your rates or deny coverage regardless of any symptoms or actual sickness.

Wife's Granny was half blood Cherokee, born and raised on the reservation.
Makes the wife 1/8 Cherokee.
Her sister, always one to do whatever she hears the yuppies are doing, and trying to be one of the cool kids, sent in a DNA sample.
Her results came back @ about 3% NA.
But it is common knowledge that the NA DNA of the Cherokee Nation had been diluted over a couple of centuries before they hit the Trail of Tears.
Those blue eyes did not come across the Bering Strait.

Yes, you are right, that psycho murdered 11 people and he raped about 40 women. And, he was a cop at the time! They caught him because some of his 3rd cousins put their DNA on 23andme.com Forty years had passed since his last crime, talk about a cold case, and they never would have caught him without the DNA. I never raped or murdered anyone so I am not worried but if there is a psycho in my family and my dna helps catch him, that would be just fine with me.

We had ours done. I was supposed to have American Indian in me, nope, English, Scandinavian, 6% Italian, and 1% Chinese.
Wifey is the same, except 6% Middle Eastern. She found out she is 3rd or 4th cousins to Rhett Akins from her Dad’s side.
They have caught a few criminals that were floating underground through their kin that had the DNA testing done. I don’t break the law, so I’m not worried about the government having mine. Haahaha! Naivete. That's analogous to stating, I don't break the law,so I'm not worried about gun registration.

He struck in our neighborhood in Stockton Ca. and in Rancho Cordova a couple houses down from my Aunt and Uncle's home. Couple years apart in the mid to late 70's.

The "rulers" didn't order me to join 23andme.com It was completely voluntary, and I have not regretted it and would do it again. It is surprising to me the way guys on this forum can take an innocuous activity and find something negative about it. Happens on just about every thread. Y'all negative and paranoid boys need to remember the song, it was written for guys like you...
