Afrin is a blessing for those with chronic nosebleeds. I know all to well unfortunately. Not worth a damn as a regular sinus spray but will constrict the blood vessels to stop bleeding in a pinch.

My ex went into surgery to fix her deviated septum. The surgeon is cutting her nose and asks her why she is so nervous. The drugs are supposed to make it so you don’t care. She tells him that all she got was a local. They stopped working on her and ended the surgery. Should have sued, but didn’t.

1911a1: Darn I feel for you!
Having been bapped in the nose about 12 or 15 times in my professional career I know how "sensitive" they are when swollen/inflamed/touched inadvertently when sleeping etc!
I hope you recover soon and the pain diminishes immediately.
Wrong kind of "record" to set.
I hope the Apnea has been corrected.
Stay strong and get as much rest as you can.

Go to have the surgery they play hell getting my IV to work had to switch it right as they were knocking me out. When the surgery's over, we drive about 18 miles back home and discover it won't quit bleeding. Have to go to the ENT doctors office and finally get it to stop.

The first two nights were terrible couldn't lay down and only able to breath through my mouth.

I'm a lot better by Friday and then do something stupid and do too much and while trying to check the oil in the Zero Turn so my wife can mow I strain and start bleeding. I got it under control until later that night and the blood starts flowing pretty fast and I cant stop it. Finally go to the emergency room after 2 hours.

Blood is going down the back of my mouth and I have to lay sideways to keep from drowning in my own blood. The ER doctor got it to stop finally.

Went in yesterday to get the stints removed. The Doctor says I'm the worst bleeder he's had in over 19 years of doing this.

I sure hope this helps my breathing because so far it's been a terrible week.
I've heard about THOSE doctors! I like my cpap machine just fine. Best wishes to you!

Wow! Sorry you've been having such a rough time with it.

I broke my nose at work 2 years ago. Went to a ear-nose-throat specialist, who told me that he could fix my deviated septum (unrelated to the accident), and my employer's insurance would pay for it. Seemed unethical to me so I declined. Been living with it for six decades. Kind of glad I made that decision now.

Back in my ER days posterior epistaxis was treated by 1st packing the beak w/ cotton balls soaked in a 10% pharmaceutical cocaine solution. Made a tough procedure MUCH more tolerable for patient and doc.

I agree with you completely.

But in my case, even when awake and moving around I could tell my breathing was getting worst. I was first told by a doctor in the 1980s that I needed surgery.

You’ll be glad that you did it. The healing does take time and don’t overdo things z

I want to be sympathetic, but I can't. You were doing relatively well until you overdid it and paid the price. I do hope you get better soon, but.... "Nose Surgery, worst week ever!" NOT.

Try bending over, feel a sharp pain in the lower spine, and can't feel the floor with the left foot, nor put weight on it because of the severe pain. Can't move the left leg to the outside or the rear, effectively paralyzed. Emergency back surgery. Pee through a tube for a year. That's the worst week ever.

If that’s your worst week in 59 years be thankful.
