I’ve got a scrapbook of deer hunting pictures dating back to about 1963. Love looking at the pictures and re-living those old memories.

SHAZAAM Andy !! whatabuck !!

My best WT was killed in 2008 'before' I joined the 'fire' so I don't have a good pic.
He weighed 194 # and 10 points but was headed downhill. I saw him in 07 and his rack was wider & taller.

He don't compare to yours but....

Come on guys, RIO asked for us to post some old pix.
FEW if any WT compare to big Muleys so don't be ashamed.

This buck was killed in 2007. His rack is a little better than the 1st one but he only weighed 178 #.

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

Deer weren't moving that morning and I still hunted INTO the wind and jumped this guy bedded in a cutover with a Doe.
He didn't get away. He landed on his back with 4 feet in the air. I'll never forget it but DANG I didn't take a pic.

Great mulies and whitetails, jwall and RIO7!

This one was/is from Maine, late 60s early 70s. Not bad for that era.

308 -

"for that era", ha, I'd shoot one like that today in a heartbeat !

I have a mere 6 pt, that weighed 176# with 17 1/2" inside spread but it's really a poor picture.

no idea how to digitize from 35mm film, but if they are prints you can either take a photo with a digital camera or scan from a printer/scanner to your computer.

Couple of whitetails from Orange County NY taken in the mid 80's, 84, 85, and 88 back when I was much younger, had little kids and didn't have any gray hair.

That was in the 80's. No grey hair there, but plenty now and goatee is all white on the chin, salt & pepper through the rest of it.

It's a bitch getting old, but, unfortunately some I know have not been that lucky.

So way back in in the fall of 1988 when I was way younger and had little kids, the little blonde kid in the pic apparently caught the hunting bug and decided he was going to become a bowhunter.[Linked Image from i.ibb.co]

After shooting his first 8 pointer in 2008 he decided it was to small and he'd be setting his standards a lot higher, and all with the bow.

[Linked Image from i.ibb.co]

And he did !!!! He succeeded in a big way and passes way more bucks than he shoots. Pretty damn good for Jersey bucks right in the vicinity of where we live
.

Probably 50-60 years ago at the Eagle Hotel in Downsville, NY. Just over the hill from me.
This was a real popular place for hunters from downstate and Jersey to stay. Probably had something to do with the watering hole on the first floor.

Hotel Du Val on Route 209 in Ellenville NY was similar, they actually had a game pole at the entrace to the hotel and there were always at least 3 or 4 deer hanging during that first week of deer season. Good times back then !!!

Allen, Great Blacktail, saw one like that here in the neighborhood last year, even bigger and with a taller fuller rack. Quite the matriarch . I just shot pictures of it with my camera. I figure he has been fathering some of the great bucks I've seen in the neighborhood.

Blue your 'best' mule deer is real impressive, and thanks for starting the thread.

Don't know where the pic is around the house here or can't find it on my old computer, but it was one I shot in far Northern MN, south of International Falls, the rack on it looks like it was from some a deer much smaller, but the deer was a big northern buck, even by those standards. Field cleaned at 265 pounds, and MN DNR estimated it at 340 to 350 bs on the hoof. Was taken with a 444 Marlin, deep in a No MN swamp, at 30 below zero.

as far as pics, I haven't figured out the system the campfire uses yet...but the rack on my "best buck" isn't that impressive, in ratio to the weight and size of the buck...
