if you happen onto a used single six that is priced well because it is missing one of its two cylinders, fear not, this outfit will make it whole:
http://rugercyl.com/ruger-cylinders/awhile ago i got a used 5.5” s.s. from gunbroker for $225. it was missing its 22wmr cylinder and had some honestly acquired scuffs. i got a replacement 8 shot cylinder for $120, paid a gunsmith $20 to fluff & buff it, and ran 100 fast rounds through it to dial it in. my single 8 shoots like a laser pistol now. if i had to grab one handgun for shtf it would be my single 8.
i’m happy enough with my wrangler, but i would be ecstatic if it came with an 8 shot 22lr cylinder, which is much more useful in a rimfire single action revolver. i doubt that any wrangler buyer is into authentic cowboy action shooting and thus absolutely needs a six shooter. a used s.s. can be a great value. since they are built so tough and are slower single action pieces it’s unlikely that a used s.s. will be shot out.
